  • Wedding: March 2017

March 11, 2017. 6 months and 1 day after getting engaged.

It took us a couple of months to find the right venue, so we only had 4 months to plan. That was nuts! We didn’t want to wait until the fall and are planning on selling my house and buying a new one during the summer. I knew I’d have a nervous breakdown if we did the wedding and house at the same time as full time work and having a child to take care of, so spring it was! We looked at March and April, narrowed it down to the weekends that I have my daughter with me (vs her being with her dad) and asked what was available with the venue. From those dates, we chose early March because we didn’t want to conflict with people’s spring break plans since so many of our friends have young children.

  • Wedding: March 2016

Wedding was March 5th 2016. Chose it because March is one of the most inexpensive months to have a wedding lmao

10/7/16

Darling Husband and I really wanted October- I have a special connection with the number 17 but that was a national holiday in the country we got married so we bumped it up to the 7th 🙂 Still got my 7 in the date haha.

  • Wedding: August 2015

August 8, 2015 – 8/8/15

My dad actually chose the date. 8 is a lucky number in Chinese. We have been dating at that time for 8 years, also the date was 8/8/2+0+1+5=8 so it worked perfectly.

  • Wedding: February 2018

February 17 2018. My Fiance works in a business that’s crazy busy from March to when the snow flies ( usually early December ) so we needed to choose a date from December to March.

We chose our date because it’s a long weekend ( Family day weekend ) and combined with his downtime work wise ensures we’ll always be able to take a few days to go somewhere for our anniversary.

We didn’t want a December/ holiday themed wedding and January here can be depressing AF. February is a bit of a risk wheather wise..very very cold! BUT, this year we had a warm spell that weekend that made it lovely. Lots of snow would be great too 😊

We wanted a Saturday and off-season and my fiance said at least a 2 year engagement. So December, 2018 it is. It feels like it’s never getting here.

  • Wedding: August 2017

I am getting married August 6, 2017. I chose it because I wanted a Sunday wedding, our dating anniversary is August 1st (so it is pretty close!) and we started saving the previous August so we’d have a years’ worth of time to save and that worked with our budget. The last reason is that we are both PhD students and I did NOT want to get married while doing coursework and teaching so it had to be sometime May to August.

  • Wedding: May 2017

rachaell :  I love this! My biological dad died before I was born and I was named after him (its unisex). Darling Husband decided to take my last name because he has no connection to his so we chose May 10 my dad’s birthday and felt like it was a good way to honor his memory.

15th Dec 2017.

We got engaged in Jan 2017 and wanted to get married in the 17/18 (Australian) summer. Many of my family and friends live in a state with warmer temperatures, so I didn’t want them to freeze in the state we live in. Plus it’s easiest for most to get time off for travel over summer/Christmas break time. We were hoping for a Saturday in Jan 18, but at the venue we loved the closest we could get was a Friday in Dec 17. I’m actually thrilled now to get engaged and married in the same calendar year!

  • Wedding: May 2018

We got engaged ealier this year. We planned our wedding for June 2, 2018. We originally wanted a fall wedding, but this fall is too busy, and next fall will be the start of his residency. So we decided to have our wedding right after he receives his MD, and right before we have to move.

We will be married on 3-21-18! I let him pick the date and we both thought the 3-2-1 thing was really fun! It’s a Wednesday and we are eloping in Jamaica.

Oct 7. The groom wanted to be married on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.  Having that date was among his top 3 priorities, so I agreed to that even though it is an awkward time for me to quit my job and move.
