I think your ring is elegant and beautiful. Very large even huge 2-3 carat simulants are common now so maybe the expectation is for ostentatious looks and that is why you’re getting the rude comments? Plus people can be filterless! I have a 1 carat diamond equivalent simulant (Moissanite) and hoping to upgrade to a 1 carat real diamond. Your ring is gorgeous!

Cause human beings suck and have unsolicated opinion about everyone elses …well everything. Sex lifes, careers of choice, size of their homes, if they own homes, where they live, what they eat, what they wear, how many kids they have, if they have kids, if the delivery is medicated or not… I mean really??? EVERYTHING.

I’m glad someone else said it! Anyway OP, what matters is that you love your ring and your fiance purchased it as a symbol of his commitment to you. People need to keep their shallow comments to themselves! Just brush it off, and don’t let it phase you. Also, I know statistics can be skewed because of the small sample size often used. But you can retort to them that research shows that the more money spent on the diamond, the higher likelihood of a divorce! I’d love to see their faces after dropping that gem lol!

I’m surprised people would vocalize their thoughts to you on this matter! It’s one thing to think it. And it’s totally personal taste as well. But, what if you couldn’t afford it? Doesn’t help at all! Ignore them. I told my FH that I didn’t want to invest so much into a ring. Doesn’t make sense to me to risk wearing something worth a new car on my finger that can break or be lost so easily. Not to mention what we could buy with that money. Enjoy your beautiful ring!!!

your ring is completely stunning! People are so rude I can’t even believe it. Wear that proudly! All that matters is that you love it 🙂

All I have to say is your ring is gorgeous and suits you perfectly.
Unfortunately, these coworkers are probably just bitter because you’re happily engaged (to a wonderful man, by the sounds of it! and there is perhaps some jealousy there.
Keep rocking your ring proudly, it’s beautiful!

First, what a beautiful ring and congratulations on finding someone to spend the rest of your life with – you are truly blessed. Second, it’s so hard to deal with the negative comments about anything close and special to us. People make mistakes, we all say and do things that are in poor taste or judgment at some point in our lives. I tend to let those remarks roll off my back because it’s not personal, it says more about that person than it does about me. Hopefully you were able to have an open conversation with your father to let him know that what he said was hurtful to you and that you’re happy and that’s what matters 🙂
