The only white heel I own is a very summery sandal and that is the only white heel I have EVER worn other than prom! I am WAY more likely to wear hot pink (my wedding shoes are hot pink) shoes again and again and again!

Here are the white shoes I got for my wedding that I definitely plan to wear again. I have many dresses these could go with and I can also wear them with my dressier pants for work. They are leather so none of the “bridal” satin look (plus naturalizer shoes are quite comfy!)
Like I said – I’m not saying its wrong to wear colored shoes or anything (I wanted to myself). I just don’t understand the reasoning some people use. It’s like they have to defend their choice by saying they’ll be able to wear them again instead of just saying “I like bright colored shoes and that’s what I want to wear.”

I wore colored shoes because I really wanted some awesome purple shoes on my wedding day….but as for the white shoes, I’ve never owned a pair a day in my life and I never will. I would ruin the white color in two nano seconds. lol

I have never worn white shoes in my life, aside from tennis shoes.

I’ve never even owned a pair of white shoes. Not since I was in junior high at least, maybe. I have a couple different colored pairs of heels…they get far more use for me than white shoes would, which is why I won’t buy white heels for my wedding.
I actually wouldn’t even wear a pair of white heels with a white sundress…I typically will go for another color to make them stand out. that’s just me tho!

You seem like you think other brides are lying about why they are choosing to wear colored shoes. As you can see from the comments above, not as many people wear white shoes anymore. In my opinion, white shoes aren’t as fashion forward as other options (like a nude heel) and they look dated.
Many brides that are choosing to wear colored shoes really wouldn’t be able to wear white shoes ever again because they’d never choose to wear white shoes in their daily life. So they are selecting colored shoes becasue they will be able to wear them again and because it reflects their sense of style, wedding theme, etc, etc.
Does this make sense?

I hate white shoes!
The last time I wore a pair was when I was 12 and a junior bridesmaid in my cousin’s wedding. I LOVE colored shoes. I wear rainbow sneakers on a daily basis, and all of my dress up shoes are colored except for a pair of standard black pumps.

White shoes make me think of Easter when I was a kid, but I can’t remember the last time I wore them. They’re just not my style, so I got cute green sandals for my wedding. I may not wear them a lot post-wedding, but I’ll wear them more than I would wear white bridal shoes.

@texasmeredith – I don’t think other brides lying; I just don’t see a pair of, say, purple heels to be as rewearable as a pair of white heels. I’m absolutely shocked () by the number of people who say they never wear white heels (and I completely disagree that white shoes are “dated”).
I think everyone should have a great pair of black, white, and tan/brown shoes because they’re neutral basics that can always go with everything. I agree that colored shoes are “fashion forward” and “trendy” and they can really make a simple outfit interesting. But you can’t wear hot pink shoes every day – they can really only be broken out every once in a while.
I guess I’m more saying that I don’t think that brides are specifically choosing these colored shoes so they can wear them again. They may be able to but it seems to me that their true reasoning is that they think they’re fun, match the wedding theme/style, etc.

I have nothing against white heels. In fact, I love these that I just bought. I wear them with everything: jeans, skirts, dresses, shorts… they’re perfect for summertime! My wedding shoes are ivory though, hehe… and I still plan to wear those again.

I myself also have white shoes (satin). Though had thought about a pretty blue shoe I had found, but was quickly out voted by everyone. And in reality they were right, I probably wouldn’t wear them again either. So I settled for some etsy shoe clip bling.
@snmcdowell I hadn’t thought about dying them black. Great idea, will make them wearable at work too. I feel better now about my white shoes.

I haven’t worn or owned a pair of white shoes since elementary school (Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, weddings, etc). I just don’t like the look of them.
On the other hand, I have a fabulous pair of red stilettos I rock the hell out of very often 🙂 I would get much more use out of a bright colored shoe because I wear them all the time already!
When i need a neutral shoe I have a couple black and silver pairs, and even one khaki pair.
However, white shoes like the one ddubbz posted are fabulous and I would totally wear them 😀

I have never worn white shoes unless they were tennis shoes. I just really hate the look of dirty shoes and white gets dirty so easily so I’ve never bothered purchasing white heels. Actually I have a pair of Steve Madden wedge thongs that are cork wedge but the actual strap is white leather. Doesn’t really count though.

I dont own a pair of white shoes besides white sneakers or flip flops. I guess I could wear them if I bought something to go with it. I could do that for any color really. Mine are green and I LOVE THEM! I like being non traditional and wearing a color shoe! Makes it fun and great for pictures.

i guess alot of people, myslef included would wear coloured shoes more often, seem more practical, not that heels ever are!
