You should all move to the UK, as b*tch face is the norm!

Most people look like they’ve had a hard life!!!

I totally have tired/mad/sad/bitchy face when I am relaxed – my lips curve down and narrow. I never really had a good comeback to all the “what’s wrong?” questions, and I got really self-conscious.

I did finally start to make a conscious effort to rearrange my lips or lift my eyes/eyebrows when talking to people so that I wouldn’t look so blah.  It’s pretty much second nature now, and now that I am getting a little bit older (mid-30s) people just don’t say that kind of stuff anymore – it’s just much more rude to say something like that to a person who is not so very young!

I get *so* sick of people in public “Smile, it’s not that bad!!”

OMG, WTF is wrong with people?! Sometimes, it really IS that bad. I don’t think I have bitchface, but one time I was in an airport talking to a friend who had just found out she was pregnant (VERY unplanned) and was trying to decide whether to have an abortion. I was trying to be as supportive as I could, and I’m sure I looked very serious/dismayed. This asshole walks by me while I’m on the phone and orders me to “Smile!”  Since I couldn’t tell him where to shove it, being on the phone and all, I just gave him the evil eye.

To anyone who says things like that to strangers, I just want to say, “How do you know that person didn’t just have a death in the family? Lose their job? Get diagnosed with illness? Find out their partner is cheating on them?”  I can’t imagine someone ordering me to smile when something like that has happened.

Yep, I get that too. Unfortunately, I seem to only have two faces (or so it would appear to others): “sad face” and “why are you so happy?” face. Even when I try to “smile with my eyes” (yes I did steal that from Tyra Banks) it never seems to translate. Even Fiance will sometimes look at me and say “what’s wrong?” when I’m not smiling.

I think some people are just lucky and were born with that peaceful/content-without-smiling face and some aren’t (I think for me it’s because I have thin lips and a short/straight jaw line). Those with the peaceful face tend to look good without smiling in pictures, too. I tend to look like a sad moping puppy when I don’t smile in pictures.Frown Or then I try to do the duck face and we all know these kinds of pictures aren’t pretty.

My dad has the look. Even if hes in a happy mood, just because of how his face was made he looks mean or angry when hes not. He gets asked that alot. 🙂

When I forget/neglect to draw in my eyebrows, I get, “What’s wrong? You look really surprised” and once, “did you shave off your eyebrows?”  My blank face used to be rather mean looking back in High School.  I set my computer’s webcam to record myself for a few hours- just reading, eating, doing homework in my room.  I saw what people meant about my neutral expression and practiced changing it. For me, it meant being more in control of my eyebrows and the corners of my mouth.

@jjah89:  omg that picture is me!!! LOL

I dont care if people think I look bitchy or unhappy, that’s just my face and they can get over it. The people that have taken the time to get to know me despite my bitchface actually like me and that’s all that matters!
