dobby98 :  I have to admit I’m curious what they deleted. You don’t seem offensive at all with your point of view! I know I sometimes stumble over my words, so hopefully people will be understanding.

Because I’m hoping if I have enough one of them will get famous and then I can ride their coattails.

Hollywood kid.

But seriously, my kid is the greatest thing I’ve ever done and I tell my husband all the time that having her was the best choice. She brightens my day and I look forward to going home and being with her and my husband. It wasn’t about having mini me’s (my husband and I are terrible dicks) but about having someone to enjoy life with aside from each other. She makes us happy and gives us another way to bond together as a team which I feel has strengthened our relationship.

It’s all purely selfish, of course.

khaleesi13 :  Totally agree with this… I’m CFBC and I didn’t find dobby’s post offensive either! It *can* be hard to understand other perspectives and this thread has really helped me understand more about why people want children. Some posts have been absolutely beautiful and have really made me smile 🙂

I know we’re all (mostly) adults capable of having a civil discussion, so let’s stick to that, okay?

cypresstree85 :  I’m CFBC and came to this thread for the same reason as you. Honestly, all the mini-me’s comments really disturbed me. That seems like a really unhealthy attitude and a lot of pressure to put on your future children. They are people, not dolls or playthings. They shouldn’t exist for someone else’s amusement or fulfillment.

I think it will be rewarding and enrich our family life. I think we’ll have a lot of fun with our future children. We’re both family-oriented and really value intergenerational relationships. I want to bring little ones to the world to join both our extended families.
