I like to bake, suck at cooking, so I like to treat others once and a while!
Oh, and pancakes.
I mostly like it because – easy to clean, set it and forget it while you can tidy around the kitchen, sturdy, different speeds, etc…

I love cooking/baking and love my Kitchenaid. I got it when I first graduated from college so I’ve had it about 13 years and it’s been going strong. I really appreciate the quality and power. It gets a lot of use and other than a small ding in the enamel (which is just cosmetic) it performs just as well as when I got it. I love all of the options for attachments and it does well for a range of tasks. We use it to make ice cream, cakes, cookies, yeast breads, pasta, ground meats, etc.

I’ve always had a hard time with hand mixers getting flour everywhere. I like to bake, have a chocoholic husband, and love how quick and easy it is to toss some ingredients in a bowl and have a stand mixer to whip it all together. I also use it to make ice cream. I find them very handy and yes, the fun colors and styling add to the appeal. They do have lots of attachments for making pasta, sausage, etc. I hate cooking so have never bothered with those.

I have one, and I hate it. I much prefer my hand mixer, but it was a gift. So it sits in the cupboard. I don’t like stuff on my counters…

wineandthings : you’e not missing anything….I bake all the time but rarely use my stand mixer because it’s big and a pain to get out. The common preference for Kitchen Aid is just because it’s a “fancy brand” of kitchen accessories and the come in red and I think other colors rather than the standard black or white.

I am so thankful for my hand me down KitchenAid. It works amazingly. Right at this moment I am making fresh whipped cream to go with the four desserts I’m making for thanksgiving – all of which are labor intensive, and instead of sweating it out, I’m drinking a coffee and typing this comment. Lol.
If you can find one used it’s a great investment if you bake. My hand mixer is pretty neglected now.

My Mother-In-Law insisted on buying us one for our wedding. I don’t bake a ton, but just last night as I was preparing dishes for Thanksgiving, I was grateful to have it. It helps with multi tasking a lot and it’s really easy to clean up.

We have one. It’s got a stronger motor than most mixers, so I use the meat grinder function quite a bit, especially during hunting season. I don’t bake a ton, but like having a good mixer for when we do, and we have plenty of counter space, so the size isn’t an issue.

Love kitchenaid stand mixers. They are work horses and make my life easier. Besides doing the baking side of things-Making pasta, bread dough, grind meat, ice cream, shredding veggies etc… I stand by my stand mixer lol I also second cuisinart food processors and cast iron everything! My next high end counter appliance purchase will probably be the vitamix in due time haha

I probably use mine 4 times a week but much more around holidays. I do bake occasionally and I always make my own bread. My signature pudding is Pavlova and it’s briliant for whipping egg whites and cream.
It looks great and it’s just so solid. It’s 7 years old and looks as good as new.

I think it’s more useful and worth the money if you bake a lot or fairly often. I do bake a lot and I couldn’t imagine not having one. I actually have a regular size one and also one of the new mini’s! They do a lot of work for you and if you lock it down it’s nice to be able to let it go and do its thing while you are busy doing something else.
