@masterteee2013:  I think if people are looking on their phones it may take longer to load?  That’s my only guess!

@masterteee2013:  I always thought that maybe it helps attract attention… I personally love looking at pics and can’t resist a pic heavy post.

Maybe some people have slower internet connections?

Yeah I always thought it was for people who had data restrictions or slow connections. But I think a lot of people just do it because they’ve seen other people do it

+1 to the above. It’s like both a warning and an enticing phrase. lol

@Mars62312:  +1

Used to be just for slower internet connections, but now it is for cell phones! I know in some parts of our area, Sprint has a SUPER slow data connection, so I always have to skip the pic heavy posts… even though they are my favorite!

It still is for slow pc connections too!  Luckily I don’t have that issue but there are plenty of areas where folks can only get dial up. And I have some friends who live in rural Missouri that only just got the option of satellite internet and it’s twice what I pay for cable, slower and with data restrictions to boot!

I’m also more likely to click on a post with a ‘pic heavy’ disclaimer because I like looking through photos.

Some people don’t have unlimited data plans or live in countries where Internet access to the home is based on usage, and want to avoid pic-heavy posts because they’re data-suckers.

I think slower internet connections PLUS people with limited data like on phones.

Also I LIKE pic heavy posts so it may draw people to posts.

I know I’m drawn to pic heavy posts, so I know it helps with how many views it gets. However, it’s also to warn people with slow internet connections and limited data on their phones.
