I’ve seen it posted a lot that platinum rings shouldn’t be mixed with other metals..
Why is this?? I’m thinking of buying a cheap stacking ring with my platinum e-ring. I don’t mind if the silver ring gets scratched or damaged, but will the silver scratch the platinum?
Pictures of mixed metal stacks too please 🙂

The metal in platimnym can never be “worn off”, it just changes place, as in scraches and buckles, whilst gold and silver looses metal when they are scrached. 🙂 platinum is more easily scrached than gold, but it doesnt get thinner like gold.

Silver is a really soft metal, it would probably look scrached very quickly sitting against a platinum ring. I am not sure how platinum would react against silver, though! 🙂

I don’t know anything about the “play nice” issue, but I do sometimes pair my platinum anniversary ring with other metals.
Here it is with yellow gold …
