Some do.  I know a bride who lives in Vegas.  She went out and partied like bachelors do in Vegas for hers.

“Girls do things like have martinis or cosmos and wear a sash.”

That sounds awesome to me!

@peachacid:  I LONGED for a bach. in New Orleans.  I knew, though, that it would be a lot of pressure on my maids.  Instead, Fiance is going.  <Sigh>

We’ve decided to drive up to DC and have a weekend on the town.  We’re dressing in 80s attire (I LOVE theme parties…back to my greek life days!) and we’re going to have a blast.  But, you’re right.  Guys can get away with it much more easily.

I think girls feel more obligated where as guys would just be like “Sorry bro, can’t afford it” and life would go on.

We do. We just don’t talk about it all the time! I can’t drink vodka anymore because of mine. Lol
Oh, and my sash is AWESOME!

Ooo New Orleans sounds like it’ll be a fabulous time!  I love it there 🙂

I’ve always wondered that too about bachelorette vs bachelor parties, but I guess it’s best to do whatever the bride will enjoy!  Maybe it’s because girls feel like they would really like to spend quality time with their girls whereas guys just want a party?  I’m not sure!  When I was Maid/Matron of Honor, we arranged a bachelorette trip to Las Vegas so we were able to everything – party, drink, go to shows and the spa, and eat good food!  Sounds like yours will be fun too!

I think it has to do with cost– maids have the dress, hair, shoes, makeup, and shower, while guys just have tuxes.

We do; we’re having Cuban cigars in the casino while we gamble at the tables. Who said girls can’t have fun?

The boys had theirs in the Audi clubhouse at Yankee stadium.

not me, but one of my internet friends posted pictures of her bachelorette party from a few weekends ago and they all wore maxi dresses, big floppy hats and went on a wine tour. That sounds pretty awesome to me and wayyyy better than getting a dick waved in my face!

Every bachelorette I’ve been to has been crazy! Pole dancing, belly dancing, bars, clubs, shenanigans in LBD’s all over town. Along with the sashes and tiaras there are also glowing LED shotglass necklaces, penis straws, risque scavenger hunts and all sorts of other hilarious debauchery. Guys should only be so lucky!

Eff that, I went to a bach party in Nashville a few weeks ago. We bar-hopped and raised hell. It’s what you make of it, wherever you are.

The boys went to Gulf Shores and had a great time, too.

@peachacid:  I feel like thats part of what makes it fun- to stick out with your best friends! Guys stick out when they go out because everyone buys them drinks and hits on girls for them (or this is my assumption anyways)

shrug, Fiance and I are boring- he is going to a mets game and fishing and I think my man of honor is planning a spa day (which is pretty awesome, but better be followed by an equally sweet party)
