I am very frustrated with myself! For 8 months I have been planning a low key garden wedding and casual reception, STD’s sent, BM’s dress bought, venues locked in. And now, 3 months before, its like i’ve been hit by an inspiration truck – and am desperately lusting after a ‘Roaring Twenties’ wedding. I’ve never been one to have a ‘dream wedding’…. but now 3 months before my actual wedding day I suddenly have one. And now its all I can think about. And don’t want anything else. GRRRRR why couldnt i think of this a year ago!!
Please tell me this will pass?

Honestly there is ALWAYS things you are gonna think of doing and changing and wanting but u just have to realise you need to draw the line somwhere. At some point you wanted all the things you chose and booked etc. just have faith in that. And if you want a roaring 20s party maybe have an engagement party or hens night etc in this theme!

@nearlymarriedlass: Thank you! Then hens party is probably a good idea!

I second what pp said, have a 20’s hen party. The gatsby trend will pass, just enjoy your wedding.

GANGSTER (not gangsta) hens and bucks combined party?!?!?

To be honest with you with gatsby coming out everyone is going to have a 20s theme wedding, stick with your wedding you don’t want to be another roaring 20s bride.

I agree with the above poster’s, do it as a Hen Party theme!
To be fair your garden sounds so quaint and lovely, I’m sure that it will be more timeless than the current 20’s trend. I know some people love the trend, but I think it only works if it’s something that the couple are into in my opinion. Theme’s are fun, but only if the theme is directly linked to the couple.
I think you just have a classic case of wanting what you can’t have, spent all this time planning something and now it’s become second nature to you, and your mind is buzzed by something new and flashy.
