So I guess this goes for any registry, but for my baby shower registry someone asked me to make another one, (I only have one.) So on the second one would that be just the same things I have on the first one? or different stuff? I know that sounds stupid but I guess I’m not sure why I need a second one. I assumed people had more than one for items they can’t find at ___whatever store___.
I have no Out of Town guests.

@PixelMePretty: maybe because they would like more options, or get better deals at other stores? I registered at 3 (wedding registry). But I could see why for a baby registry you would typically only use one store.

@PixelMePretty: Who asked you to make a second registry? How odd. I have 4 registries (amazon, buy buy baby, babies r us and pottery barn kids). My amazon one is private, I made it just so I could use the 15% completion discount. We started the PBK one when we bought the furniture for the same thing, the 10% completion discount good for 6 months. The buy buy baby and BRU are local ones that people can actually walk into the store & pick stuff out. But the short answer, I made more than one to get discounts =) I don’t know why someone else would request that you start another one.

@ThePrincessBride10612: It was my grandmother, I made mine at a store that’s everywhere in Oregon, and affordable. I’m not sure why, I have things from 2.99 to 199.00 so it shouldn’t be a matter of price. I’m going to end up just asking her. Maybe she didn’t like anything I registered for lol.

@PixelMePretty: Thats funny. You’ll have to let us know what she says. I mean if she doesn’t like anything on your registry then she should just buy you what she wants, i guess… My Mother-In-Law went xmas shopping for me (to buy baby stuff) and ended up buying me a bedding set that wasn’t on my registry because she liked it (insert eye roll). It came from a good place tho & I think its kinda funny now (I didn’t think it was funny when Darling Husband told me about it before xmas).

We only registered at Amazon, and no one had an issue, despite there being no physical store! So that seems like a bizarre request to me!

I had a family member ask me to make a second registry at a store closer to where she lives. The funny (errr…annoying) part is that after I went out of my way to make a second registry, she didn’t end up using either registry! If I had to do it again I’d probably just register at one place.

I have Amazon and Target, so people can go physically shop in person at Target if they want but Amazon generally has better deals and more selection, and Darling Husband likes to read the reviews on Amazon. We registered for different things on each, not redundant.

Well I think it’s strange someone would ask you to make 2 registeries.
But I don’t think it’s strange to have more than 1. Some places carry different items and some places have things cheaper. I’m only using a babies r us and amazon one. I would just go with the amazon one but I know my family and they like to go in and buy it in the store that day or the day before.
I might do another one just for myself to get a discount but they would probably be very small.
I had 3 wedding registeries (that I gave out to people) and 2 more I used to get a discount! So that was 5!

@PixelMePretty: It is odd for someone to request two but maybe other stores are closer to them? You could put some of the same stuff on both registries or different ones.
I think my Babies R us Registy had some of the bigger items and bundled sets that only they have and my Target registry had more washcloths, towels, safety items etc. Different stores have different selections so it is easy to have different registries. I.E. Some have cuter towels or better book selection etc.
If you limit yourself to one store, you might not like everythng that one store had (I remember Babies R US having an awful baby book selection and Target having ugly sheets).

@PixelMePretty: Oh, I just read that it was your Grandmother. Some of the older generation really don’t like registries or want to buy one specific thing and are annoyed that they have to stick to a list (although they don’t have to). Ask her is there was anything she thought your registry was missing?

@PixelMePretty: I created 2 because I knew after the whole Target thing some people might want another options (but I really wanted Target as they had almost everything in stock, and we have very limited options of stores). Plus there were some specific things I couldn’t register for on Target. I ended up registering for mostly everything on Target and the rest (which were mostly fun items like nursery stuff, toys, and a few clothing items besides my stroller and bottle warmer) at Amazon.Com.
