- Wedding: October 2012
I booked our photographer before meeting her since I’m a Boston girl planning a Lehigh Valley PA wedding. I went by her photo portfolio, stellar online reviews, pricing, and her awesome responsiveness with phone calls and emails. We met her today and chatted a bit about what we were looking for, then moved on to our engagement photo shoot.
First, we went to a local college campus to take some pics near some pretty buildings and trees and benches and stuff like that. First place we took pictures, she had us lean up against these really cool old Japanese trees. So Fiance goes first, and he gets this disgusting sticky sap ALL over his hands. Thank goodness he didn’t ruin his outfit! But it was a mess. The photographer was like “OMG! Wipe your hands on my pants!” Seriously. So he wiped the sticky sap all over her jeans and probably ruined them. But he was still a sticky mess. Then she whips out antibacterial wipes. Crisis averted!
We continue with the shoot. I was super nervous and felt awkward posing for photos, but she made us feel SO comfortable. We were only supposed to have 2 hours, but she just kept listening to our ideas and taking us different places. We went back to her house to change outfits, and then she brings us homemade lemonade! It was pretty warm out.. (80 degrees in October in PA is unheard of!) So we sip lemonade, chat, then move on downtown after she takes some awesome silhouette photos in this gorgeous window in her Victorian home.
We went to this little alley downtown that has great murals painted on the walls, and the photographer thought it would be cool if we got ice cream or a milkshake to share for the photos. But the cute little ice cream shop was closed! Don’t you worry.. the photographer bangs on the door and convinces the owner to let us in and make us a milkshake! YES! We continue outside, with our milkshake, and we got some really awesome photos. She was showing us them as we went along. I was so happy, and Fiance (although he was missing the Pats game) even had a great time! We get our photos in 2 weeks and I’m so excited! I’m sure there will be multiple polls about which pic we want for our Save-The-Date Cards in the future!
So now that I shared my awesome experience… what little things has a photographer (or videographer, florist, DJ, caterer, etc) done to make you LOVE them?! I know there are a lot of negative posts about things on here, but let’s share our happy stories!
