I know the feeling. I got my B.A. and couldn’t find a job, so I went to grad school. Got my Master’s to be a school librarian, finished in May, and still can’t find a job. I’m working part-time in an ice cream shop now, and once I get married, will probably try subbing or signing up for something like Adecco. Lucky that the fiance has a good job, but I’d like to be able to get one too. 🙂

I’ve been a temp to hire for 4 years… at the same job…. They seem content just to keep me as a permanent temp.

Depending on what you ladies do, I’ve found specialized recruitment agencies to be immensely helpful (i.e. I’m a Legal Assistant, and therein I consult with Legal Recruiting Agencies). I have not been out of work for longer than a week my entire working life (about 6 years) because I utilize agencies and I pound the pavement in person rather than surfing the net for jobs.
Also (and I know it’s such a tired addage in this day and age) it’s all in the networking. One of my lawyers at my current firm plays golf and is a chair on a society with one of my practicum contacts.
Good luck to everybody!!!
