Ive posted about my bridesmaid not been interested in trying on a dress previously. The other two picked the dress but we are getting them made cheaper by a dress maker. One of my bms is my oldest friend and has booked her fitting no problem. I messaged my other SIL to tell her and her sister to arrange a fitting at their convince twice with the dress maker.
She hadnt responded. I left it a couple of weeks before asking her again and have seen her since but I didn’t meantion it or the wedding so its not as if im chewing her ear off. I know people have busy lives but would a response go a miss? Shall I just leave it and not say nothing. Am I being over sensitive? To me it makes sense to get the dress done so the lady can order the materials in order to make them.

I would give her a deadline to get fitted for the dress. If she doesn’t meet the deadline, then she doesn’t meet the deadline. People know they have responsibilites for agreeing to be a part of a wedding party.

@mandy86: Is your wedding in September 2014? If so, I think you should just relax a little, you’ve got plenty of time. It’s the holiday season, people get busy.

@mandy86: I think it’s a perfectly normal reaction, athough it is also one that we just have to get over.
Who actually looks forward to a stranger taking your measurements and confronting you with reality?

I had a few people who were harder to get to try on/buy their dresses. I did like the pp said. I gave them a deadline that the dresses would be ordered by and if they couldn’t make it, it would be ordered without them. Mine did have to be ordered by a certain time or they wouldn’t make it in in time for the wedding.

If your wedding is in September 2014, give her some slack and a few more months.

It takes longer to order the material as its imported and then for the dress maker to make. Il see after christmas whats going on plus one Future Sister-In-Law will be going in the RAF so will be difficult to get hold of her get measured hence why we were trying to sort it out before she goes for training.
