I’m with you on that one! I think it’s ridiculous!

I’m looking at just buying ours b/c it really wasn’t that much more… and who knows when table cloths would come in handy =)

not wrong at all. linen rental seems to be insane! i guess it depends how much you want that stuff to coordinate. i’m sure it will be beautiful though 🙂

OH and for napkins we’re gonna buy some plain colored napkins and stamp them with a waterproof ink… much cheaper than buying them monogramed

linentablecloth.com is awesome for basic linens (and they tend to have “free shipping” deals for orders over $50, $100, etc.). That’s where I’m getting mine, and then I’m re-selling them later. I also just want plain white, but my venue only supplies the kind that go partway to the ground (I really find those tacky), and well, the control freak in me wants to be able to make sure everything is ironed properly beforehand (I really hate when wedding tablecloths have 8 billion creases in them, lol). The Linen Tablecloth site has awesome service, and they carry all kinds of tablecloths, napkins, chair covers, etc. SUPER high-quality, too–a lot of people are saying that the quality they purchased is way better than the quality of linens from rental companies.

For 120 round table cloths the best price I found was around $15 but with shipping and all it will come out about the same. If you could  resell them at even 1/2 what you payed then you would come out way ahead but I don’t know if you are willing to put in that much work on this type project.

My daughter’s tablelinens came in this week. 55 rectangle tablecloths, 50 satin table runners, and 12 linen napkins with a total cost of $288 (additional 20% discount and free shipping) from http://www.linentablecloth.com. We are thrilled with their quality, and the price! In fact, we just used 6 of them yesterday for her bridal shower. One of the shower guests even asked if she could buy about half of the tablecloths after the wedding. I totally purchased with the idea of reselling post-wedding. Not sure if you were needing rectangle or round? Round is definitely more expensive but at the above website 20 round = $12.38 each with free shipping. I just checked their website and they are also running a special right now on Spring colors @ an additional 30% off.  Buying/reselling is definitely the way to go if you can find the best deal! Good luck! T

I bought tablecloths, table runners and chair sashes from http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/ and was able to sell them quickly on Craigslist after the wedding.  I can’t believe how much they rent for!

I am really dissapointed with my linen as well. It is so expensive. We couldn’t afford the pattern I really wanted. I had to settle for no patterns to save money. That being said, I think they believe we are going to color the napkins with red crayola or something LOL.
