I do my nails all the time, no less than twice a week. I just like to change things up. But lately my nail polish has been bubbling up. Like little tiny bubbles. They are not incredibly noticable, but it is to me. Any suggestions?

katy13: Is it getting hot? Is it old? What do you do to your nails before applying?

HowStuffWorks.com has an article about this called “How to Avoid Bubbles in Your Nail Polish finish”. It might be helpful.

Tanleggedjuliet: Well the nail polish I used tonight is brand spanken new. I am in my house, so it is not hot. I did just take off old nail polish with remover, but I washed and dried my nails before I put on the new polish.

I find my polish bubbles if I shake it too much (u should roll your polish between your hands) or apply the coats of polish too thick

If you shake the bottle too much within about 20 minutes of applying, or if you have a fan (ceiling or otherwise) blowing on you, you’ll get bubbles. I’m not sure how it works, but the fan is usually my problem.

Sounds like it could be trapped air from shaking. The best method for evening out the Polish is to roll the bottle between your hands rather than shaking it vigorously. Also store it in a cool place (like a fridge) to cut down on humidity.
