I was just curious as to the reason why you’ve chosen to get married in March. Sentimental reasons? Weather? Venue options?
For us, there were a few reasons. First of all, the weather in Texas in March is usually fantastic–perfect temperature, low humidity, and pretty flowers everywhere! Second, the anniversary of our first date is March 1st, so we already feel connected/celebrate our relationship in that month. Thirdly, FI’s great-grandmother was born on March 16 and passed away when Fiance was thirteen. They were very close. My grandfather was born on March 17 and has also passed away, and we were also close. There are also no anniversaries or birthdays on either side of our families in March so we wouldn’t be stealing anyone’s thunder. 😉 March 16 just seemed like a perfect fit! 🙂

Funny, our anniversary is March 1st (when we became official). I really wanted our wedding anniversary to be the same month so I always knew it would be March. Also, I love Aquamarine and since it’s March’s birthstone, it was perfect to make my engagement ring have an aquamarine centerstone! Plus March is month #3, which is a prime number and I LOVE prime numbers!

March was near springbreaks and after my peak period of time at work.

@Vintage Garden Bride: I’m actually with you on one of the reasons we picked March. I’m in Austin, TX and my fiancé said the weather should be really nice then, not too hot or anything. I’m new here, so I didn’t know how the seasons are. March back home in Boston would be wayyyy cold. Also, that works around a lot of work schedules for our guests so more people should be able to come.

@Jenjengrins: I am with you on why we picked March, I will be in graduate school and we will be getting married right before spring break. Plus hopefully my Fiance will have more vacation days by then as well! Plus I would rather have a spring wedding than a winter wedding.

March is our dating anniversary month and it’s the month he proposed in. Plus, it’s off-season for venues by us!

Spring break for me too! Im a teacher, so not having to take time off is great, and now theres built in time for our honeymoon without having to wait until the summer (too hot for me!)

I choose march 9th because of spring break means vacation for us (were both in college) and the beautiful weather 😀

We chose March because of spring break for my parents who are teachers. And because we got a 20% discount on catering and venue for having it in March! Yay for saving money!

Spring break for me (last semester of grad school!). It’ll be easier that way!

@Vintage Garden Bride: I chose march mostly because of weather (I’m not too far from you – New Orleans). I also chose March because it’s after Superbowl (which is in New Orleans this year) AND after Mardi Gras. Come April, we will be exhausted.

Spring Break for me! I’m a teacher and it’s the 1st weekend of our break. That way we can honeymoon right after the wedding! It’s also the month he proposed (March 30). I’m so excited!!

We chose March 2nd for a few reasons, but mostly because it’s the first Saturday of our spring break, so we can go on a honeymoon afterwards without having to worry about classes. 🙂
Additionally, we live in Florida, and we’re having our ceremony outside on the beach. Florida weather in March tends not to be so HOT, which will be a plus for sure.

We chose off-season for the winter discounts we’re getting and we chose March 2 because that was the latest Saturday in the off-season still available at the reception venue. But, I love the ring to 3-2-13, it just sounds good to me. 🙂
Good thing we chose March instead of opting for April or January or February elsewhere because it turns out I’m going BACK to school and we’ll need to honeymoon over spring break. We do have to go back to work and life for two weeks inbetween the wedding and the honeymoon, but two weeks is way better than two months!

We chose March b/c my dad, who I was extremely close to, died in January and March 1 was his birthday.
