(Closed) WHY oh why does my .75 carat solitaire look so tiny? Can I see yours?

Your ring looks totally normal for a .75 in the photo, OP, and it’s a great size on your finger… it doesn’t look too small at all!

Is it in person that it looks small? It could be the cut or clarity, if so.

I think your ring looks fine and the size I would expect for 0.75 carats.

I would point out that while your ring size is small, your fingers do appear from the photograph to be very long so that might be why you consider your diamond to be small.

Your stone is literally three times the size of mine – and you can tell! Just compare:

See? Big difference. Your ring looks like it’s supposed to.

0.75 carat princess cut solitaire on sz 8 finger.

I think yours appears bigger thanks to your smaller finger.

though personally I love the size of mine and wouldn’t change a thing.

Your ring does not look tiny at all, it’s a very complimentary size on you.  It’s probably like a trick of the eye to me, but it’s hard not to notice your long, elegant fingers as much as your ring, but that doesn’t mean it looks small by any means!  I wear a .76, with shorter, bigger fingers (6).  The bezel’s outer diameter is about 7mm.

@Autumnsnow:  they do look bigger from a distance because the setting blends with the stone… jeweler told me this… my .85 easily looks like a carat!  ๐Ÿ™‚

@nicole1276:  Having a high setting helps a smaller diamond appear larger.  Would your beau be upset if you wanted to change the setting?  It’d be a lot cheaper than changing the diamond if you’re really not happy with it.

My ring is Tacori, 18K white gold, and the solitaire is about .90 carats.  My finger is a size 6.

From that photo, your ring looks larger than .75 to me! I think you might feel better if you took the ring into a jewelry store and compared it to a .5 stone.

OP, I think your eyes are playing tricks on you ๐Ÿ™‚  There are times when I look at my ring, and it just ‘looks’ small, although I know it is NOT, and then there are times I will get a glimpse of it (like this morning, pouring my coffee into my mug!), and I think it looks BIGGER than what it is!!  Your ring is beautiful, and suits your hand perfectly!

I think it looks hefty and beautiful!  You’re lucky you have such little fingers, in terms of finger coverage.  I have a somewhat porky 6.25 size finger and a 0.7 center stone. You could add side stones or a blingy band if you want more coverage?

Oh and I definitely agree with @wrkbrk that stones look bigger in pictures than in person.  Mine looks pretty dainty in person, but whatever, it’s the perfect size for me.
