Is there any way you can find it used on Craigslist or the Classifieds here?

It’s a gorgeous dress (at least the back as shown in the pictures online).  Is there something similar in your price range?  Is there something else that you can cut out of the wedding to make the price point work?

I fell in love with a 6K Vera and ultimately decided that it wasn’t worth it for me.  I ended up with a gorgeous Sophia Tolli for less than 1K.  I actually liked my dress better than the Vera 🙂

If you ever watch Say Yes to the Dress…you just broke their #1 rule by trying on a dress that you fell in love with that is over your budget!  (gasp!)

Well, can you also contribute to the dress?  Would your aunt freak her freak over the 4K? I just googled the dress and it is gorgeous.

Would your parents help at all…maybe with 1K?

Dang, that is one gorgeous and vintage-glamour sexy dress.

I agree that you should look for it used.  Try preownedweddingdresses.com, oncewed.com, woreitonce.com, and the WB classifieds…that’s really a gem!  Maybe you can find it for half the price or even less!

Eek! It is really pretty- how about buying the sample?? Are you able to fit into the sample? Thats what I did, my dress was originally  7k, but because i opted to buy the sample it was more than half off!

No, it probably wouldn’t be impossible to find a similar dress, but the price of that dress takes into account the way it’s cut just so and has the luxe fabric that makes you feel like a movie star.  It’s a really gorgeous dress, and I’d make sure I couldn’t find it used before searching for something similar!

How about finding a really good dressmaker and getting something *similar* made just for you?

That’s what I’m doing – I fell hard for a pic I found of a dress made for a catwalk show, but never put into  actual production. I don’t know what it could have cost for reals, (a Jim Hjelm) but I’m sure it would be a helluva lot more than the 350 euro ($450 approx) my dressmaker is charging. Including fabric.

How gorgeous is this?
