There are a ton of reasons, weather being the most often seen.  It is the weather in between locations that I have been diverted for.  There is also health.  I had someone on a flight once get really sick and they had to divert our flight to get that person medical attention.

I wouldn’t worry about it, I am sure it is not anything to worry about.

I’m right there with you (hate flying, Fiance travels all the time)

There are several reasons – weather (has happened to my parents several times), plane issues (has happened to FI), a passenger having medical issue, etc.

Hopefully everything is okay. I know from Fiance being diverted that it takes a longgggg time to get to next airport (or final destination). So if he’s coming home, he’ll be late (or likely late wherever he is going). Crossing my fingers for you.
