Why would temps stay high after AF?

zstbee84 :  did you have any alcohol the past few days? That used to elevate my temps all the time. Also, when was the last time you tested?

AF temps can be all over the place. I’m guess you may have missed your pre-AF temp drop? I had a two day drop last cycle, then a spike the day AF showed and it stayed high the next day… Then jagged the rest of AF.

zstbee84 :  I’ve had elevated temps at the beginning of AF as well like PP mentioned so maybe that’s just what it is. Sorry this is frustrating for you but hopefully next cycle you’ll get your bfp and you won’t need to chart for a while.

zstbee84 :  I think you haven’t chatted enough to know what’s normal for you yet. For me, I don’t get that temp drop until 2-3 days into AF (my HR drops first). Here’s one of my charts for comparison (with Ava sensor)

zstbee84 : FWIW, the two cycles I got pregnant (the second one ended in MC), my charts looked totally different. When TTC the second time around, I had been waiting for another cycle that followed the same pattern as the first time I was pregnant, but my temps after ovulation were always inconsistent. One cycle, they’d climb gradually and stay high through the first few days of AF, the next cycle they’d be a jagged mess, etc. The second time I was pregnant, I even told my husband I wasn’t pregnant (like minutes before getting my BFP) because my chart looked so different from the first time I was pregnant.

I’m trying to decide whether to temp next cycle. On the one hand, I feel like temping makes me more obsessive, which I’m trying to avoid, but on the other hand, I hate not knowing exactly when I ovulated. I don’t know what’s worse. frown Maybe I’ll temp just until I ovulate.
