I’m not going to lie, I’ve seen a few pictures posted where the person says they have a tiny ring size like <5 and the picture they post is of a chubbier finger and thought what the heck? But I never really thought too much about whether or not they were straight out lying and I don’t care if they are or aren’t.

If this is what is bothering you today then you have entirely too much time on your hands.

I’ve seen people’s pics that say they are a size 6, let’s say wearing a round cut solitaire and it looks like what you’d totally expect. Then later on they post the same size 6 but wearing a different shape like an oval and it makes their finger look like a size 4. So I don’t always immediately assume the person is lying, different rings do different things for the person’s proportions. This isn’t exactly worth analyzing.

What is up with all the lying about finger size/diamond size posts lately haha! Has the Bee gone CSI: Ring Crimes all of a sudden?

I have to be honest. I’ve seen people put up pictures and thought “no stinking way” (However, my Mom was a jeweler all of my life and I worked for her on and off. I can look at someone and usually be correct.) It’s never bothered me though. Who really cares.

I think people lie for 2 reasons. 1) They want to post pictures of their rings 2) For the same reason they lie about their weight.

Is this something we are doing now, lying about how skinny/chubby our fingers are? I am behind the times…here I was just worried about my jean size.

@Lt.Columbo:  Your fingers look similar to mine so I will say 6-7ish.

OP I agree with you, I have seen some large fingers that say they are one size but are OBVIOUSLY not. Like seriously 2- 4 sizes larger. I too have seen this a few times but its not a big deal.

This has to be one of the strangest posts I have seen on the Bee.  Who cares?  Like, really?

@janie-janie:  I did this in middle school too.  I feel the same way.  I regret it.

As far as the original post here.  I don’t know why it matters.  We as women don’t usually tell the truth about our weight and pant/dress size either.  That’s because society has told us that a smaller number equals beauty.  I don’t agree with that at all.  If someone wants to lie and say they have a size 4 ring finger, who’s it hurting?  Not you or me.

suprisingly lots of people ask my ring finger size cause my actually center stone looks bigger than it actually is.

and my finger is smaller than what most people think.

Why does it matter?

In the grand scheme of things, it isn’t a big deal.  However, I can see what the OP was saying.  If somebody asks to see, say, different size stones on a size 4-5 finger to judge what would look best on them and somebody who posts their ring claims to have a size 5 but really has a size 7, that isn’t going to give the OP any help.  So, while not a huge deal, it is unhelpful to the person asking the question.

I would just like to say that I have CHUNK a MONK little fat fingers (I have tiny little hands), and I wear a “dainty” size 5.5

So yeah, sausage fingers with a tiny ring size, who knew?

haha, this is the dumbest thread I have ever read. Why do you even care about what other people say their ring size is? seriously… Way to get yourself wound up over nothing… Also, I know this thread is old, but OP your grammar is atrocious. It was painful getting through that first post. Inarticulate posts that don’t even make sense are way worse than people “lying” about their ring size… But maybe you are psychic and the jokes on us…
