I have very short, wide feet…which has always made it challenging to find shoes that fit. I love shoes though, and want to find some really great ones for my wedding….any ideas where to shop for cute wide shoes? In new york city or online….

I love admiring shoes from afar but hate shopping for them for that reason. My problem is not only are my feet wide but the arches on each are completely different which can make one pair comfy while another pair is intensely painful. Because of that, I can’t shop online for shoes at all. Most local stores I can’t even buy shoes from even if they are wide because of how they are designed. However I have had success with regular local dept stores. They fit you to the shoes and have you try on different styles. You would be amazed at how different two seemingly identical pairs of shoes fit or don’t.

How small and how wide? I can help better that way 🙂
You can find a lot of great shoes online but some stores only go to like a 4.

My feet are a 5 or 5.5…and very wide, like a D or wider, depending on the brand (though I just bought a pair of shoes at Aldo that fit perfectly, and they’re normal width, not sure how). i have had some luck with certain brands, like Sofft, Vaneli…but want to find some pretty shoes for the wedding. I have had luck with Zappos…but sometimes they can be pricey. sigh…

They have a 1 year return policy and great customer service. You can order a large selection and just send back what doesn’t fit.
I also find them pricey, but there are deals to be found, you just have to scour that site often.
I have hard to fit feet as well. A wide size 10.

ah, I am not alone. I have this same problem also. My shoe size is a 5 and sometimes a 4 1/2 but never bigger than a five, well so far, and I have tried on a lot of shoes in my life so far, but they are wide, not too wide, but wide enough that sometimes I need to get a 4 1/2 wide or a 5 wide shoe, which stinks cause a lot of shoes I end up liking don’t come in wide, so I have to pray that I will fit into them without the wide part, which sometimes I do, but not as often as I would like.
Good luck though.

I’m like the total opposite of this problem. I’m a 10 narrow, and sometimes even that’s not narrow enough! :-/
