I am wondering if any of you wear wigs … not for costume, but for occasional or everyday wear. I have said before , when frustrated with my straight mousy hair that doesn’t take a curl , that I would just get a wig someday. Well, I think that day has come!
Getting married next May 2013 really is not the reason, but just want to look good everyday and tired of spending 1/2 hour every morning.
I have been scouring videos and such , and learning about them. I am looking at a couple of Raquel Welch short to medium wigs on VOGUEWIGS
.com because right now if you buy any RW wig , you get a RW “Vision” wig for free! that’s only good until 8/20/2013
There are only a few stores in town ,and I might go look at one today but I’m a little nervous about it.
And I know several African American girls were them and extensions, but I’m white and about 49 and would like to hear the good and bad.
THANKS!

Well, I don’t wear them but, I know a woman with badly thinning hair who wears them. It looks very natural, and I would have never known it was a wig.
I can’t speak from experience, but I would imagine that to put the wig on properly it probably takes some time. Good luck!

I wear wigs on a regular occassion, and in the past almost everday when I was a performer. Honestly? I prefer my own hair better. Wigs get hot and sweaty. Extentions totally different!! I LOVE extentions and hair falls (like extentions but you can put them in yourself, they only last as long as you want them to).

@HelleCat: Hot and sweaty ? Is that because of wearing a wig cap under it ? That’s one of my concerns… also whether it is a color close to one I normally wear. Thanks … I’d love to hear others still.

My friend is 22 and has cancer. She wears wigs regularly and I can tell it’s not “real” but I don’t think a passer-by can. Just stick to your natural hair color or close to it in a classic style.
