i LOVE just dance 2– it’s super fun and really gets you moving. plus, the motion sensor is good so it senses if you are right or wrong, and the songs are very current.

Any of the Wii Active workouts are just awesome.  You work up a great sweat and are able to customize your workouts or pick the intensity of the preset programs.  No board needed.

I know you are looking for an alternative, but I highly recommend Wii Fit. It is fun and the board really improves your balance and posture. Maybe you can get a deal on craigslist?

I highly suggest buying Zumba for Wii.  $40 for the game and it’s an amazing work out.

The EA Sports Active is really awesome. Zumba is a kick butt workout, whether on the Wii or not. I love it because it’s fun and easy to stay motivated. I also love anything by Jillian Michaels.

I actually like the Wii Fit myself. Best of all, my whole family can use it, including my 3 year old who LOVES it.

If money is an issue and you want to try some different games before you buy, try renting them. My local video stores have Wii games available to rent, and I know some online venues also offer rental. It’s a great way to get to actually use the game on the Wii platform without committing to buying it. Just a suggestion, since everyone is different and enjoys different forms of exercise.

@kitzy: Sounds like I need to get it! I’ve seen it at the store & heard from a few other bees that it’s great!

We just got a Wii! We’re too cheap for the Wii Fit, though I do want it. For me just the sports games it comes with can be a good enough workout. I’m sore after doing the boxing!!

Just Dance 2 is awesome – it’s so fun and I could definitely feel it the next day. You just need your regular controler and the game was $29.99 at Costco.
