It will probably be in the middle; it won't scream "thin band" OR "thick band". : (45 votes)

No, on a 4 size finger that will not be considered "dainty". : (8 votes)

2mm band on a size 6. I also wanted a dainty band, and I’ve been very satisfied with this. Still looks nice and thin, but I also feel like it’s very sturdy and can hold up to daily life.

naturelovebee :  2mm is plenty thin. Mine is 1.7mm and I sometimes wish it were a little thicker. I feel like it’s too thin at times. Mine is a 1.7c equiv. on a 4.75 finger.

plpinkinsa2001 :  Wow your ring is beautiful!! I love the sort of unusual ‘halo’ you have around it. May I ask how many carats the center stone is?

My engagement ring is 2mm at its widest and tapers to 1.5mm near the diamond.  It feels sturdy while still looking dainty.

    I am a size 4.25

naturelovebee :  I went with a 2 mm band because I also wanted a very thin and dainty band. I even thought about 1.5 mm but my jeweller advised me not to go that low. I am SO happy I went with 2 mm, it’s very sturdy and I’m never afraid of damaging the shank or anything like that.

I’m sure you’ll be happy with your choice and also, the bigger the stone is the smaller the shank looks, so that’s something to consider as well 🙂

I don’t know the exact width of mine but I love it! I wanted a dainty looking band too & I think getting a plain shank instead of one with stones on it helped in that regard.

I have a size 3 finger with a 2mm knife-edge band. My diamond is 0.5ct. I love that the thin band helps my diamond appear larger and suits my thin finger/hand very well!’12 copythumb_6_1024
