(Closed) Will a 2mm solitaire engagement ring band still look "dainty"? Post yours (poll)

    Yes, that will look thin.

It will probably be in the middle; it won't scream "thin band" OR "thick band".

No, on a 4 size finger that will not be considered "dainty".

naturelovebee :  Thank you 🙂 It’s 18K yellow gold, for reference. Don’t forget to post your ring when you get it, I’m sure it will be beautiful!

naturelovebee :  Thank you!!! Sounds like we get eachother! I seriously can’t wait to see your ring! I will definitely post mine when I get it wink! I debated doing the oval shape as well because both shapes are so so beautiful. Those are almost idential specs of what we had picked out too, how funny!

2mm rings (wb is maybe a bit thinner) in a size 7, I sometimes think it looks too thin & wish I had 2.5! Lol

I think mine looks very thin…I’m looking forward to getting my wedding band so it doesn’t look quite as thin. I wanted 2mm because it was the smallest I could find and I didn’t think it would overwhelm my size 3.75 finger.

I almost thought if 4 mm was too thin for my engagement ring laughing But it depends so much what YOU like. smile I think 2 mm is minimum for daily wear and at least if you have big stone there! And to my eye it looks thin. smile

2mm will definitely look dainty! I just got mine, it’s 2mm wide, size 6 finger, and a 1.25 ct equivalent Moissanite. I almost went with a 1.5mm band because I also wanted it to be as thin and dainty as possible, but I decided against it because of the warnings about losing integrity with bands smaller than 2mm. I also saw one poster upset because she had a 1.5mm band for her Engagement Ring and some of her family thought her ring looked fake and costume-y because the band was so small 😔

I will say that I feel like my stone and band both look larger in pics than in real life (not complaining!), so I would definitely recommend trying some different sizes on at a jewelry store before making your final decision. That helped me a lot!
