I thought I read somewhere that postage on an odd size envelopes cost more? Is this true?
Originally I wanted my invites to be 4×9, but I see on vistaprint that it’s soo cheap to have them printed there instead of me having to pay for them being printed and cut locally. Just wondering about the postage.

The easiest way to find out what it will honestly cost is to run over to your local post office and ask. This doesn’t sound like something that would cost more to me (I’ve seen plenty of those sized Vistaprint invites, etc and can’t ever recall them having more than one stamp when they arrived.)

I believe it goes by weight not size.

There are specifications for envelope sizes on the USPS website. Looks to me like you fit in the “under 6.125 x 11.5 inches” category, which is a standard postage.

it depends on the weight..

i talked to my post office and they said it it has to be run through a different machine do to a perfect aquare or odd shape it cannot be processed through withthe regular .42 cent postage. mine are pocketfols and are the perfect square so mine are costing .64 each

Take a fully assembled invite to the post office to find out since postage is dependent on weight unless you have square envelopes which are always more due to their shape.
