@phishy179:  I’m pretty obsessed with “casual” bridal pics on Pinterest that show the bride in her dress and something casual like a cardigan, cowboy boots, etc. but when I tried it with mine it did NOT go.  So put them together and see what you think.

I bought a coat for my January wedding and regret it, I wore it for probably under 10 minutes.  So I wouldn’t stress too much about your decision.  Even if you’re colors aren’t that powdery blue, it could be your something blue!

I wouln’t wear a cardigan, I think it is just too casual with your beautiful formal dress – have you thought about something off pre-owned weddings accessories – there is a lovely fur stole on there at the moment, or a crocheted shawl from etsy?  Or is it too late?

Your dress is gorgeous! That cardigan takes away from it. keep looking.

I’m sorry but I don’t really like this cardigan with your dress.  I like the idea of a wrap better.

My wedding was in March and it was about 50 degrees out.  I basically had my coat on when we were walking around outside but I just took it off for the picture.  It was cold but I tried to smile through it anyway.

@phishy179:  I wouldn’t do a cardigan with the fabric you have- maybe try a fur or fake fur? I don’t have a great pic, but here’s a guest shot of my wedding this past weekend- that cape is made of angora wool (so it was a shaved bunny. not a skinned bunny.) I got it at a vintage store for around $100. You might also look at marabou feather capes or stoles, they usually come in white or offwhite

@phishy179:  I think your dress is gorgeous but I don’t think the carnigan is a right match for it. Id keep looking. I love the idea of a plum shawl since that is your colors. What is your budget? Maybe we can help you search for one

@phishy179:  Mine had coverups in store, but I live in Chicago.  I’d call ahead and ask.  Good luck!

I love both your cardigan (my favourite colour!) and your dress but not together. I agree with a PP about a faux fur stole or wrap – you could probably order one from one of those Chinese websites that make dresses too, like Dressilyme. I don’t think it would be very expensive either!

ETA: I’ve just realized your wedding is coming up soon so you probably don’t have much time to order anything. Have you tried looking at “normal” retail stores? I have a short ivory fuzzy jacket that I bought for 15 euros in my local Tally Weil and it’s very wedding-appropriate! You probably don’t get this brand in the US but you know what I mean, right?

@phishy179:  something like this would be awesome I think, its just under $200 with shipping (which I think is a reasonable price.)  I looked for a LONG time to find mine so trust me, I feel your pain

Maybe it’s because I live in a cold area but 48 doesn’t seem too cold! You’re already wearing a relatively heavy dress and I’m sure your blood will be pumping from the excitement, I don’t think it’ll be too freezing for you to wear your dress as is for outdoor pictures.

If you think you absolutely need something, I wouldn’t go with that cardigan. Way too casual. I also wouldn’t order anything online at this point since your wedding is this Saturday. I’d run to the nearest DB and see if they have anything you can purchase then and there. Here are some links from the DB site. I’m sure you could call in with item numbers and they can look up the closest  stores that have them in stock.
