If you love the cake, then you should get it, but if it were me, I wouldn’t do it, unless I could tie it in somewhere.

I don’t know, I think if it’s a neutral cake (like all white or ivory), then no one will notice if it doesn’t quite “match.” I think as long as the general feel of it and the colors go along with the rest of the wedding, it would be fine.

I’m not a person who is intent on everything matching perfectly, so I say it doesn’t matter if you have lace only on the cake.  Instead of focusing on the lace, focus on whether the cake as a whole will be cohesive with the overall mood/vide/feeling of your wedding.  if yes, then you should go for it.  Also, i really really doubt that anyone would even have the thought the you only had lance on the cake and that it someone doesn’t go with the rest of the wedding because there is no lace anywhere else.

If it gives you some options, I did actual lace wrapped around the bottom of my cake because it was cheaper that way:

i dont think there has to lace in other aspects of the wedding.. as long as the cake ties in with the rest of your colors no one will really care or notice. i say go for the lace cake!

Ditto Meowkers. If the cake as a whole works with the overall feel of your wedding, then go for it. I personally don’t care for matchy-matchy little details anyway.

I think it’s one of those details that no one is going to notice or care about but you.

I think the cakes pictured here are subtle lace. If it was like, WOAH LACE!, it might stand out more. I think with the pictured styles though, it could definitely fit into an elegant, classy, otherwise lace-free theme just fine. ๐Ÿ™‚
