I was thinking of getting a spray or airbrush tan before the big day. I plan on doing a trial run between now and then to make sure I like the way it turns out and that I don’t have any issues with it staining my clothes. However, as I plan on getting a mani/pedi before the wedding day too should I take any precautions?
If I get the mani/pedi done right before will the oils, lotions, etc. effect the way the spray tan ‘sticks’ to my hands and feet?
If I get the mani/pedi done afterwards will all the scrubbing, exfoliating, etc. ruin the spray tan?
I know this is a little silly but I’m new to this whole spray/airbrush tan business and don’t want to mess anything up. Any advice is much appreciated!

I was told you can do a manicure after the tan, but not a pedi. The place told me I could do the pedi before, but because of the scrubbing it isn’t a good idea to do it after. Manicure they said wasn;t a problem though, I believe it is the scrubbing that is the issue.

Yes, if you get the pedi after the spray tan it will most likely mess it up. It did for mine a couple years ago. I would get the pedi first, then the next day shower/exfoliate, and then get the spray tan.

Get the mani/pedi and then the airbrush the next day. You need to wash off the oils/lotions and be completely free of anything (even deodorant) that could alter the tan’s reaction with your skin.

Thanks! It sounds like I should definitely get the mani/pedi the day before the spray tan.

Yes, the pedi before at least. I made this mistake as well once and had to go get the spray tan touched up on my feet/ankles. It looked like I had a sock tan haha
