Hello hive! First, a quick background: My SO and I went ring shopping in NYC in June, and he said he will propose by the end of the year. After ring shopping, I was successful in not talking about getting engaged unless he brought it up, which he did once in a while. Lately, he has been bringing up the topic VERY often and told me he has already visited every jeweler in the area (as well as online vendors) and has made a decision.
Every time he brings up the topic, he is quick to say that it won’t be until after September, because he has been working hard to earn extra money this quarter for my dream ring (even though he said more than once he has the money saved and ready to go).
He went out to lunch with his mom this past weekend and he confessed that he told her the date he planned on proposing and how he planned to do it (!!!!!).
My birthday is this Saturday- and while he swears it WONT be this day- I can’t help but get excited!!! I feel like if he picked out a ring, date, and proposal, it’s coming soon!
We have plans with my friends saturday and our families sunday. I feel like friday or saturday would be the PERFECT timing!
What do you think? Is he trying to throw me off his tracks- or is it really not coming for a few months?

Hard to know for sure, but don’t get discouraged if he doesn’t this weekend. He said by the end of the year, but my guesst is if he has the ring and the proposal all planned out, it is coming sooner than you think. 🙂

Definitley dont get your hopes up— i’m kind of thinking my proposal will come this weekend too, so we can keep calm together!! Do ya’ll have monday off of work for Labor Day? I think this being a long weekend is enticing for my SO to pop the question. We’ve made plans to go down to New Orleans for the day sunday (which is one thing i love to do that he isnt the biggest fan of). So i’m very suspicious, but trying REAL hard not to expect anything!! Good luck!!

@theEguarantee: We do both have labor day off! I didn’t even think about that! I live in a different city (only about an hour away) so we usually only spend weekends and one weeknight (if we are lucky) together- so a long weekend is promising 🙂
*trying* to not get my hopes up!

@shellybee13: I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. My birthday is this week (Virgos unite!), he’s been talking about marriage non-stop, and the ring is in the house. It’s feeling like a real challenge to focus on anything else.

I would be excited!! If you think that you would end up crying if no proposal happens well try to focus on each other. If you can keep up well, get excited!!
I’m wishing the best for you ladies!
