OK so I’m still super undecided, because as I’m warming up to getting the lace dress, I’m also warming up to getting the ruffle dress unseen because I feel like it would have worked. However the other poll seems to be heavily biased by people posting based on whether they like a simpler style/hate ruffled dresses, or based on my rather rushed timeline.
So this time, I want you to tell me: Put aside how you feel about the dresses personally and objectively tell me: Do you think the ruffled dress will fit me well or not? I’m asking for perspectives from everyone’s personal experience in trying on dresses or seeing other people in dresses, etc, as I’m obviously biased.
Lace dress is me.
Ruffled dress is model screencap from the video (at the bottom of the post)
My problem area is the chest, I can’t do deep sweethearts AT ALL, but these dresses seem ok.
Will it look good on me? Your answers are really helpful bees!!!
You seem to really want to take a chance on the ruffled dress so instead of asking for more opinions go for it. People are naturally going to vote based on what style they prefer and having a pic with a dress you already look good in may also influence the votes. As far as the size and whether it will fit that all depends. Measurements are helpful but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will fit well on you. Seeing it on someone with a similar frame is also not a guarantee so my answer is I can’t say if it will or wont.
Objectively I do not think the ruffle dress will look as nice as the lace dress. It has a drop waist which will make your legs look shorter. Also I think the ruffles will look frilly and dated in a few years while the lace is timeless.
Sounds like you really want to take a chance on the ruffle dress and are looking for someone to back you up on your decision. I have no idea what your budget and timeline is but it seems like you’ll regret it if you don’t try it on.
heavenlyflower : That’s fine too!! Maybe I am being overly optimistic about it and you really can’t tell without trying things, so I’d definitely like to know what other people think, without specifically thinking about which one I should BUY per se. I tried to make it seem like a hypothetical question, an exercise in abstract theory, but maybe it didn’t work so well 😉
sakurabee : lol @ drill. Understood and I totally get it since I’m known for going with my gut even if its not the most practical decision. Sometimes you have a good feeling about a situation and it won’t leave you alone. Good luck!
ukitali : Actually I think deep down I want someone to convince me that it would not have worked anyway, because I don’t think I’m going to go for it. I’d love to have been able to try it on but that didn’t work out, so… Well, with the poll, I mostly just wanted to see if people just don’t like the dress itself or whether they thought it wouldn’t fit as well, which was not at all obvious from the other poll. Though if everyone thinks there’s no difference between the questions then it’s pointless of course! 🙂
The bodice on both dresses are very similar in shape, just one is more dropped than the other. For that reason I feel that the ruffle dress would fit similarly to the lace dress. I do agree with PP that the ruffle dress will look dated in time. Really love the lace one on you. But do what you feel is right!
That lace dress is the absolute perfect fit for your curvaceous Body! The one you want to order has a smaller cup size and I think you are going to bubble up and look very va va vroom up top. Your waist looks absolutely tiny and very bridal in the lace dress.
sakurabee : I feel like the corset drops lower on the ruffled dress than on the lace one so it is hard to tell how it will look on your body. Some brides look better in a dress with a natural waist (like the lace one) and others look better with drop waists and I am having a hard time visualizing you in the second one.
