I will drink red wine anyday, anytime, anywhere, with any meal.

I personally don’t do white wine, but if the red runs out and there’s beer I’d just switch over to that, so I think your ratio is fine. I know lots of people who can easily transfer from red to white (or vice versa) too.

mangosandcats:  Sounds like you’ve got a plan!

I forgot to mention… a DRY rose is a nice option for people who dislike white but want something crisp, refreshing, and that pairs well with most fish.

It’s 3 p.m. on a summer Saturday and I’m currently drinking red wine haha. I definitely prefer it to white and would like to have the option to drink it at a summer wedding – that said I echo others who think you should go with more white than red.

I only drink red (white wine gives me massive headaches) even during the hot, humid summer months! And I concur with fellow Bee’s…if you offer red, Pinot Noir is a good choice.

As with a PP I was wondering whether you would consider adding Rose to the mix, along with the Pinot and the white wine. I love a beautiful Rose in summer as I’m not really a white wine drinker

mangosandcats:  HAHA I suppose I could have read the SECOND sentence of your original post to see that it was at the dinner the night before. I blame the red wine 😉

I think the 2/3 white and 1/3 red is good and keeping the Reds light. You could also do a sangria or a blush in the mix if you’re really worried about it.
