I think it totally would for me if I hadn’t bought mine already! last week I saw the price of my wedding band jumped $200! if it had cost that much last year, I would not have chosen that ring.

Gold was extremely expensive early this year, when we bought my e-ring. It went down in spring but is apparently going up again, so yes it will probably affect my wedding band. Fiance wants a tungsten (I think that’s what it was?) ring anyway so it won’t matter for him 🙂 Gold is about triple the price of any other material.

We delayed the ring buying for several months as well and the price did go up, which was frustrating. My ring is palladium, which isn’t going up as much, but I’m afraid that demand for it will increase as gold prices go up, and that’s going to hike up the price. I might be purchasing the band sooner than expected because of this.

The price of FI’s white gold Artcarved band went up over $100 from when we first started looking at it to when we purchased it a few weeks later. Our local jeweler price matched to eweddingbands.com so it was still several hundred cheaper than what they originally wanted for it, but it’s frustrating knowing we maybe could have gotten it for even less.

Hmmm I was intrigued to know so I just went back to the website we ordered our rings from and my ring (an 18ct white gold band) had gone up nearly $150, however the price for SO’s band (a 2 tone 14ct band with small diamonds) had decreased in price by about $35 isn’t that strange?!? I think the saving on my ring definitely makes me feel better about ordering them so soon but I think it is strange that SO’s ring dropped in price…
