Well we’ve finally signed all the forms and made all the down payments and it looks like we’re having a family only garden wedding, a family lunch to follow and then a bigger reception with friends that night (60-70 people max). So here’s where I need help, I need some opinons on whether or not my decoration ideas will work with my venue. Mainly because any DIY projects we have to do will be done this summer so I want to get all of my ducks in a row. Our reception area is 3 rooms, a “banquet” area, martini lounge (bar and dance floor) and a lounge area with a pool table.
I’m just worried about it being a fall wedding and looking very kitschy. Obviously it will be a laid back affair but I still want it to be beautiful so any opinions or ideas are welcome!
Also, I realize I posted this in the wrong thing by accident (I hit enter to go down in the text and it posted it!) so if there’s anyway to move it please let me know! 🙁

I think the color pallette of your decor will look stunning with the colors in your venue. I think it will look very classic and well put together without being over the top! Beautiful!

I think the burlap and jars go amazingly well with the brick venue………what a gorgeous lay out you have planned! I love it!

I think it will be gorgeous!!! I absolutely love white pumpkins and always use them in our fall decor around the house. They’re my favorite and a lot less cheesy looking than the orange ones.
I think the baby’s breath and hydrangeas are simple and beautiful. Sometimes these simple choices are so much more sophisticated looking than the fancier, over the top arrangements. I think everything will look great with your venue – it looks like it would be cozy and intimate.

I love the contrast. My venue is the same way, dark walls and dark wood colors everywhere so I am also going with light centerpieces so that they stand out. Good choice and I think the ones you’ve made are beautiful!

I think everything you’ve chosen will work well with the venue because it’s all very easy on the eyes and simple, which is what you want with a venue that already has so much character built into it.

@chouette: Beautiful…..I love the idea of you using lots of white since the venue has lots of dark wood. It’ll be gorgeous!

@chouette: I like it and think that it could go well, but I would maybe see about getting more light in the room. Maybe it’s just the photos, but I think it’s going to look weird if all of these cute, kitschy floral arrangements are in a dark room. Maybe you could find some cute lamps or something? That aside, I think they’ll be fine.
