Not a question you hear everyday I know!
I will be DIYing my hair and I definitely want a loose, low updo. The only style I seem able to do is the Gibson roll and I haven’t really got time to master anything else, the wedding is in 3 weeks (this isn’t me, I’m blonde):
which I think is a lovely bridal style but I’m wondering whether it will be “too much” with my dress, which already has quite an edwardian feel:
I want to look romantic & vintage, but not like I’m in fancy dress…I will also be wearing a fingertip, single tier silk veil.
What do you think?

Nuthin wrong with it! If you feel a little too done up when it’s all said and done, take the end of a rat tail comb and loosen some tendrils in the roll for a more updated and tousled look.

i like it and if you feel comfortable doing it, then that’s a good thing.
i agree with pp. maybe pull out a few strands to make it more current.

I think they go perfectly together. I would never thought old-fashioned, but sleek & timeless.

Thanks for the replies 🙂
yes I wouldn’t have it too neat, some tendrils out so it’s kind of bohemian.

I think it will look beautiful. If you feel like its too much then maybe try something else.
