I think a plain white gold band would be beautiful.

 I think the jeweler is just trying to make a huge (I mean, the cost of a diamond band vs a plain band) sale. I say go somewhere else, regardless of what you decide!

@love108: I second that !

And I think a plain band could look great ! I tried on a very blingy ring with a plain band once and loved it !

Yeah. I agree with everyone else. He was simply trying to land a sale. Trying to convince you not to buy it by pointing out a plain band is plain? Stones or no stones, either would go great with your ring. Honestly, I love the blinged out paired with the plain band look. Gives it a really lovely contrast. Is it for everyone? No. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous ring btw. 🙂

@MamaMegs721: everyone else is likely right.  He wanted the sale.  I love plain bands as wedding rings.  Its very classic but at the same time very unique since theyre so rare anymore.  While I don’t have a ring as blingy as your’s, I chose to go the plain route, but chose something with a design for a little bit more oomph.

As you can tell its quite thin.  I dont know for sure but its under 2mm.  Something just as thin will look absolutely great with your ring!  Sorry for the poor photo quality.

I think it would look fantastic. I have two plain bands.

I’m sure it would look really nice! I have the opposite, where my Engagement Ring is in a plain metal setting and my wedding ring is a thin pave band. I love the contrast between the two!

I have a halo very similar to yours and a thin plain band. Technically ther are a few tiny diamonds on my band which were set in from my great granmother’s ring but they flip around so most of the time it looksl ike a plain band. I them tohether. I also like that my band is not so blingy and if I feel like I am traveling somwhere that I don’t want a flashy ring, I can jsut wear the simple band.

I think it would look great! The solid wedding band is classic and timeless.

With your ring (which I love, btw), I think it would lovely and simple and understated and your e-ring would continue to be the spotlight. I love the idea. Sometimes you can get a very very fine pave band (1mm-1.5mm) which could work also, but you’ve gotta look around for the right quality.

I just adore non-diamond wedding rings!  Don’t get me wrong, I also love diamond rings, but I do adore the simplicity of the ‘plain’ rings…I’m currently torn on the subject myself but I think I’m leaning towards a band that looks like one of the ones below and I have a halo.  I think it will look elegant and classic, and also a good idea if you do things with your hands a lot when you won’t want to wear something so delicate!
