I don’t think it would look bad with or without the draping, but if you have a picture of that back wall, it would help me make a better decision. Do you know what is out those doors?

Don’t worry, I’ve got a 100 foot long wall.  I could drape the whole wall too, but how expensive would that be?? so what I am planning to do is drape maerial over a 4×8 lattice panel and do one every few feet with uplights.  So you doing that one sectiion will look fine.

OR

to take focus off of that wall, what if you were to move the dance floor to the center of the room? Then you wouldn’t have to do anything.  And then everyone would be able to see.

What abour renting foldout wall dividers, the pretty kind?  Or renting a couple large trees to decorate in front?  That might be cheaper and you could create a pretty twinkle light area.

Don’t know if this is an option for you at this point, but I had my venue pay for the draping of a wall. There is an UGLY unfinished mural that they recommend covering. She *kind of* offered to pay for it as long as I used their catering. SO, I agreed to use their catering and had the draping (at their expense) added into my contract.

Also, if you decide to drape and the venue won’t pay for it, shop around a little bit. I have been able to call places for my chairs saying, “I was offered x price at one of your competitors. Can you beat it?” And I’ve had really good luck so far! I’m down to $5 each on my Chiavari Chairs with only $75 delivery, from originally $8.50!

Thank you.

I think that using the 65′ draping to cover the door areas would look the best. I am assuming that the area behind where the bar is going to be doesn’t look out of place.

@ninefivethree: I don’t think it would look bad, but some draping would be nice. What about just draping behind the behind the dance floor. I don’t think too many of your guests will notice what is behind the DJ as long as the doors stay closed.
