So it’s no secret that I tower over my Fiance, Im 5’10 he’s 5’7. I never wear heels around him but I’ve been so disappointed at the idea of wearing flats with my wedding dress. i think heels are so feminine and personally I like how I walk while in heels.I have seen so many cute heels on this site and I;m just green with envy.
Well my fiance was joking that since we are getting married outdoors he was going to have a rock placed where he stands so he’s taller than me when we are exchanging vows (he was totally kidding) but it got me thinking. What if I wore heels when I was going down the aisle, had my Maid/Matron of Honor have sandles for me when I got to where I’m standing and take off my heels and change to flip flops before we start the ceremony. It would be totally a joke.
I just wonder will people think I’m poking fun at him and feel uncomfortable or think it’s funny?

I think it’s hillarious. Personally I LOVE the groom standing on a rock idea. Made me laugh out loud!!

I would probably find this strange if I witnessed it at a wedding. Also, logistically, it may not really run as smoothly as you’re thinking it will.

I know it’s not your intention, but I think it would draw more attention to your height difference than just wearing flats would, and might come across that you are picking on him.
What about wearing heels during the reception?

I think it’d be cute if you wore what u wanted and when he said “you may kiss the bride” his best man handed him a step stool and he climbed up and kissed you. Just me.

@AJester2: Thanks for the laugh 🙂 I love this idea! He would totally do this.
The height difference it our little joke. Most people find it odd but he loves it. He actually wanted to see if we could get this cake topper but in reverse. He would know I wasn’t making fun of him but others might think I am, I guess.

I think it’s cute! My cousin made a joke in her speech about her husband being younger, and everyone laughed and made it more ‘down to earth’…but that’s me. As long as your Fiance thinks it’s funny, then go for it!
