I am thinking of DIYing tin or aluminum cans- spray painting them pretty metallics, maybe wrapping some burlap and lace around them- for my centerpieces. Before I go to the trouble to save and decorate a billion cans, does anyone know if the metal could harm the flowers or somehow cause them to wilt early?

@nawella: They will work just fine.

I don’t think they will hurt the flowers or make them wilt any faster. maybe google ways to extend a flowers length of time (ie: the powder they come with, etc)

@nawella: Just be sure that there are no sharp edges along the mouth of the can. This could potentially lead to cuts for those arranging your flowers, as well as cuts on the stems of the flowers themselves (which would make them dehydrate faster). I usually just use a little masking tape on the inside and it works just fine.
