I’d take it, but I only got mine a week and a half ago so I’m still really obsessed with it, LOL!

Absolutely. If I have to, I’d leave it in a safe.

depends on where we go on our honeymoon – we just went to Europe last year and I wore my engagement ring, but if we decide on to South America or Southeast Asia, I’d leave it home just because I don’t like to advertise the fact that I’m a “wealthy American” and be a target for mugging

we will be getting married at the same place we’re having our honeymoon so I’ll have both my rings with me. I will not wear them when I’m swimming or scuba diving though!

I’d say it depends where you’re going. If you’re going to Central or South America, I’d leave it at home. I spent a semester in college in Costa Rica, and while I never felt unsafe, locals advised us not to wear expensive jewelery, carry a nice purse, or carry a lot of cash. There’s a lot of theft there and there’s a misconception that all Americans are rich, and you don’t want to exacerbate that by wearing your fancy wedding set. A lot of the wedding rings I saw there were just plain bands.

I can’t speak to other places, but better to be safe than sorry.

@MrsRichard:  Not to freak you out, but my FI’s family vacationed in Jamaica when he was young and they had all their valuables stolen from the safe.  I don’t can’t remember if they stayed at a hotel or resort though…

@Diamondgurl:  I agree! If I were traveling somewhere nice, I would take it with.. But like countries like Jamaica, Guadalupe, philippines etc i wouldn’t.

I did, yes. We went to Walt Disney World so no danger there. I might reconsider if we were going somewhere that might not be safe to have a larger diamond.

I took mine, I thought about wearing a stunt but I couldn’t bear to not wear them since it was all new and fun. I wore them every day even swimming and scuba diving. And then I wondered why fish kept following me… which was because I was flashing something shiny in the water. OOPS lol

Yep! Maybe if we were going somewhere sketchy I wouldn’t bring it, but I don’t generally travel to sketchy places. We will probably have our honeymoon in Hawaii so I think that’s fine.
