I sent each of them cards saying how they important they are in my life and why I would want them beside me when I get married with the last sentence asking if they will be my bridesmaid.

I called them to tell them I was engaged and they said “yay!  I get to be a bridesmaid!”  Kind of anti-climactic I guess.

Although I did think about making a collage of TERRIBLE bridesmaids dresses on the front of a card saying “This could be you!”  And then “Will you be my bridesmaid?” on the inside.

I bought my girls these cards that I bought on etsy (seller is Sdezigns). Each was personalized and had a cute poem in it and in the end it said “will you be my bridesmaid?” Here is the link:

They were in my wedding colors. They weren’t expecting a card so I wanted to surprise them! They LOVED them!

I made a really cute card for my bridesmaids and wrote a poem for them…I also sent them a copy of the movie Father of the Bride.  The poem went like this:

A copy of my favorite movie,

for one of my closest friends,

I’ve seen it a million times,

and I still smile at the end.

The night before my wedding,

Let’s all watch it one more time,

Watch their happy ending come to pass,

so I can start on mine.

Like George and Nina Banks,

I prepare nervously for the big day,

I don’t have Franck as my coordinator,

but I still think I’ll be ok.

Through our friendship we’ve shared laughter,

some gossip, some trouble, some tears,

and there isn’t any doubt in my mind

why we have been and will be friends for years.

So on the day of my wedding,

as I walk with the father of the bride,

I would like to ask you, as my friend

to follow me and be at my side.

I told my girls I would be honored if they’d be a Bridesmaid or Best Man and they all got super excited. =)

I gave all my bridesmaids a copy of the movie 27 Dresses ($7 at Walmart)

They all knew they were going to be a bridesmaid so I thought something extra would be nice.  Plus I love that movie and at our ages, it’s kinds true! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I gave mine all a mini bottle of their favorite alcohol and made a label that said you will be needing this then asked them to be bridesmaids.

I bought cute cards and wrote poems in each one, ..all different, depending on my relationship with the bridesmaid. For my sister, I wrote something different than for my best friend…and ditto with his sisters. I also included a gift certificate in each card for my favorite esthetician shop so that they could get something done in the near future, or closer to our big day ๐Ÿ™‚

My girls are all long distance so I sent them a card in the mail (everyone loves getting snail mail right?!). I made theem photo cards from snapfish for like $2 each.

The front had a picture of me and Bridesmaid or Best Man and the inside said “Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Be My Bridesmaid”

I listed silly things like you get to wear an awesome dress, you get to go to a fun bachelorette party, etc. and the number one reason why is because you are one of my best friends and I can’t imagine doing this without you!

They all loved them. ๐Ÿ™‚

I bought some really cute blank cards at Target and wrote on the inside:

Will you be my (MOH, BM)? Check YES or NO.

  • YES
  • NO

Then I checked yes on all of them and wrote:

Nevermind I already did it for you.

But after they read it I let them know they actually have a choice if they didn’t want to be in it for any reason and I’d still invite them to the wedding =)
