I usually use crest whitening strips, but for the wedding day I went to the dentist to get them extra white. I noticed it lasted much longer.

@ChampagneBlushWedding:  absolutely! But, I’m addicted to whitening my teeth haha. I have trays my dentist made and use something he gives me that you put in the trays for 15 minutes per day for 2 weeks. It is amazing!  I forget what it is called though..

@PacificMrs:  brush your teeth once a week?! That is not healthy!

I’m trying the baking soda/peroxide method from pinterest, but wasn’t sure how often. So it is once a week? I just started on Saturday and I mixed a little baking soda in my toothpaste and brushed, then used the hydorgen peroxide as a mouthwash. Is this correct?

@MrsWBS:  No, I mean brush with that SOLUTION once a week, LOL! Ewww gross 😡 I brush my teeth twice a day and floss like no one’s business. But if you use baking soda/peroxide too much it’ll ruin your enamel. 🙂

I whitened mine beforehand, but I didn’t start soon enough for my liking… and that’s why I have photoshop 😉

I got an at-home system from a group-on several months ago. It was one that came with trays that you boil to take the shape of your teeth and it came with a lifetime supply of the whitening gel and a little UV light you put in your mouth. It was $60 which isn’t cheap, but for a lifetime supply, I thought it was a good deal. And the best part is that it comes with both a whitening gel and then also a hardening gel that you use after the whitening and it takes away the sensitivity.

I bought whitestrips at Costco, and it came with the regular ones and the 2 hour ones! I tried to use the 2 hour ones the night before our engagement photos, but after about a half hour I had a sharp pain on one of my lower teeth, so took the bottom strip off, then got annoyed with the top one and took it off after only about an hour!  So I didn’t notice a ton of difference.  I was using the regular ones for awhile, off and on, but they started to make my teeth hurt too, so…  I dunno what I’m going to do!

I’ve used crest whitestrips before, they were ok but in the future I’ll be trying the DIY version since it’s the same important ingredient

Could someone please share this peroxide and baking soad method? Smile

Also, where do you get the peroxide from? Just regular peroxide for hair?

I want to get whitening done especially since I ALWAYS see groupons for it here in NJ or NYC. However, I am not sure if I want to tolerate the pain.

Every time I’ve had an event I’ve done the baking soda/peroxide thing for about 3-5 days in a row right before and it’s always done the trick. I do not smoke or drink coffee though so I’m not sure how bad my teeth really are.

I get my teeth whitened twice a year, so will just make sure one of my visits is close to our wedding day.

I also religiously brush, floss and use mouthwash twice a day – sometimes three times (all are whitening products).
