Definitely changing it. I don’t like my last name, and I love his. So it’s win win 😀

Keeping mine! a) I’ve never imagined changing it b) It’s who I am c) Fiance and I are from very different cultural backgrounds, and as we live in his country, it is important for me to retain my identity and culture through my name.

I changed my name.  I like having the same name as my husband and I wasn’t really attached to mine.

I moved my last name to a second middle name.  It gets confusing for people though when they see two initials and there aren’t really many places that allow for two middle initials, but there was no way I could completely drop my last name.  I’m still happy that I’m able to see it fully on my driver’s license and back when I had a job (got laid off) my business cards had my two middle iniitals on it.

Im with Tarragonfly…my last name is very different since im foreign…and I have grown quite attached to it…it just seperates me from the smiths and johnsons of the world (not that there is anything wrong with them!) Another reason is that his sister and I share the same first name…so I dont want to be the second one of that name…it could get quite confusing! So I will be doing Mrs. Myfirstname Mylastname-HisLastname

I’m going to hyphenate. I would like to keep my last name due to professional reasons, I’m a scientist and I’ve published articles under my last name already, but I recognize how much it means to him. I’ve also considered having two last names without the hyphen, so we’ll see.

I really wanted to keep my last name and just add his to the end of it because I love my name, its a huge part of who I am and I love my identity. But he was slightly offended by that and was definitely not ok with it so after a super long conversation with my dad I decided I will just take his but its still something I am not fully ok with. I mean he isnt having to give up anything lol

I’ll be changing my name once we’re married. I’ve never considered NOT changing it…to me it’s a part of being married and uniting us as a couple. I can’t wait to finally be Mrs. Hislastname. Yes, it will take some getting used to but I’m so excited.

I am going to change my last name.  I am just really excited about sharing a name with my fiance and being family with him.  I am considering keeping my last name, because I love it, but I don’t want to hyphenate or make it my middle name.  Who knows what’ll happen in the end?!?
