My FH and I were talking about when we’d like to ttc for our third baby and we got onto the subject of names. We have three year old twins, a boy and a girl, who both have quite old fashioned names and our picks for our next child are slighly more modern. We’ll probably end up picking something timeless and a little obscure (our style) because I don’t want our next child to feel left out because their older siblings are twins with old fashioned names and they’re a single with a modern name.
Do you think the names of your existing children will affect the style of their siblings’ names?

When I hear about matching names, my mind automatically takes me to the Kardashian Klan. I would really rather not have anything associated with those folks. If by matching you mean all have traditional versus trendy names, then yes, I think that makes sense. If you mean will I force all their names to start with the same letter (even when they don’t) to “match” them, then no.

@MrsPanda99: Sorry, the thread posted itself when I was half way through writing it. When I said matching I meant in the sense that they would be the same style of name rather than actual matchy-matchy names. I find it weird when people do that.

Our very future children in the very distant future (lol) may have some matchiness, like the letter M in all of them though it doesn’t have to be the first letter. Ex:
My married last name with start with an M.

My SO and I both have super trendy names from the year we were born. We decided early on that our kids will have more traditional names, because we hate how our names tell you how old we are!
On the other part- both our names start with C. We won’t be giving matching C names to our kids, and we won’t be giving matching lettered names to our kids!
