My new last name will be very off. I don’t want to share it on the Bee, but I’m sure my future kids will be teased about it. Luckily they will be cute like their mom and dad 🙂

My married name is only funny because it’s now the SAME AS HIS MOMS’S.

AT LEAST we are completely different people!  LOL!

vip0802:  Vi King is literally one of the best names ever, I am so jealous!!!

My first name now is lame, my last name is too weird to be cool but at least sounds OK with my first name. My FI’s last name is equally weird and uncool, but doesn’t sound good with my first name.

I’m really conflicted about taking FI’s last name. We both want to share the same name and have our kids share it too, but he doesn’t want to take mine and I don’t want to take his, and he doesn’t want to come up with something new but random. Still haven’t decided what to do…

Mine will be Laurie Lawrence.  Laurie being a form of Lawrence lol.  I’m thinking of hyphenating.

Mine isn’t weird at all, but for someone no one ever gets it right when I spell it. It’s a pretty normal name, the same as a relatively famous fort, but spelled differently, e.g. Knox -> Nox. So I’ve tried saying, “Like the fort, just spelled N-O-X” but people still get all confused. Haha, I’ve got to try a different approach. (For the record, it’s a different fort, lol.)

My current last name is awful and I got a fair bit of stick growing up so I’m very happy to be changing it! My new surname is one of the seasons!

vip0802:  thanks to my first name being spelled “weird” people assume my maiden name is spelled weird even though it’s an actual word…I’m hoping it doesn’t happen to my equally simple married Last name.

My new last name will be 1/3 of my last name. His last name is basically the middle of my long last name. Unusual to have such a simple change but not weird.

My first name has always been said wrong or spelled wrong. While my new last name isn’t odd, and doesn’t sound weird with my first name, I don’t think I would have been phased by it if it was.

The only strange thing I think of with my future last name is that I have a “white” first name, will have a Chinese last name, but I am 100% Indian.

I have 2 options with the last name thing…

1. Take his last name. Simple enough? Well, this would mean his mom and I will have the same first and last name. Mehhh.

2. Hyphenate my last and his last. Not a great idea, since my last name is an adjective and his last name is slang for male genetailia.

Mine’s not weird, but kind of fun… FI’s and my last names both have the same meaning, just in two different languages. So I’m swapping a very German name for a very English one.

Both his and my last names are SUPER French. At least my maiden name was somewhat popular…. His, not so much! EVERYONE gets it wrong, half of my family doesn’t know how to pronounce it still and we have been married about 5 months.

Also my initials spell out “SAM” now. try saying this outloud: “S Ann M”… Yeah S&M lol

FI’s last name is the same as a sandwich. He gets a lot of comments and is asked quite frequently if he loves that particular type of sandwich. Basically, the unfunniest joke ever.

Can’t wait for it to start happening to me…

On the bright side, my current last name is difficult to pronounce, so at least I won’t have to deal with that ever again!
