I won’t necessarily have a ‘wierd’ one, but I will only have to change one letter in my last name to change it to his.

My new last name wont be weird..but i’ll be honest…I rather keep the last name I have now . My last name as it is now..goes great with my name (they both start with the same letter so they flow nicely). My new married last name I am not so thrilled about..but o well I dont care what my last name is as long as we are together and married! Woo!

Vi King thats a really cool name (and “Vee” King is the swedish pronunciation of viking)

My new (very greek) name will be a bit hard for swedish people topronounce/spell. And sense my first name is Alexandra everyone will think im greek. But it dosnt matter at all!

I am saying goodbye to the very boring and commong last name of Rodriguez, and saying hello to an Arabic last name even I can’t pronounce all that well still haha. It starts with an M and a B, people always look at me funny asking me if there is a letter missing in between. The best part…..I go by my last name at work. My coworkers are going to hate me…..

I’m going from a one-syllable, five-letter name….to another one-syllable, five-letter name haha. So the overall sound of my full name won’t change all that much, although the last name is different (I have a super English, kind of Puritan last name. His last name is super Irish.)

My last name is a single syllable. His is 3 and VERY irish, that will take some getting used to!

ChicFoodist: I’m white and I’m taking FI’s Asian last name. My name is European in origin but is pretty common for Asian-American girls to be named. confusion will abound.

lapisphoto:  That happened to us. Its hilarious when he updates his emergency contact from “mom” to “wife” without changing the name.

Woobee:  lol! K well his last name is Johnson. Not so bad on its own, but if it is hypenated with my name, it would not be too great. My last name isn’t common though so I don’t want to say it here for privacy reasons.

Weird… I used to work with a woman named Jo King. It was funny for a while after she got married and then everyone pretty much forgot and got over it. It’s not like you call someone by their first and last named when you’re talking to them, or even when you’re talking about them most of the time. And hey, at least it’s easy to spell. My first and married last names are butchered all the time…. It’s a good thing I was used to it from spelling out my first name my whole life.

My name makes me sound like I am of a distinctly different race. It makes me worry that I’ll be negatively judged on things like resumes, and etc. When I realized my fear of being judged over my name, it made me SO angry about all the racism in our country. People should NOT have to worry about judgement over race. It shouldn’t exist.

kellynn323:  I’m the absolute opposite! I went from a very unique, Slovok name, to one of the most common last names in the United States. Sigh 🙁

FI’s last name is the same as a famous fictional character, everywhere he goes people say “OH! Like the Movie! Hahaha!”, I find it so annoying. Im still on the fence about what I will be doing with my last name after the wedding.

vip0802:  Yes. If I take his last name my name will go from cute and short to rhyming. Ugh.
