my next car will be a 4 door like a camry or an SUV.

i am looking forward to more room and not having to slide up my seat when i have extra passengers.

but after driving my 8 year old mitsubishi with the service engine like on perpetually, i’d take anything.

I currently have a 2003 Acura CL type S and I LOVE it!! My husband drives a new 300 C and he loves his car too.  I’ve already decided that when the time is right I will trade in my car for a Honda Odyssey (my Acura already as 120K miles on it, so I need a car that can handle lots of miles, so no American car for me).  I LOVE The Odyssey — and I don’t care what people think about mini vans, this car ROCKS!  I worked for Honda for 4 years and for Chrysler for 2 years, and I can tell you that Honda makes the best mini van ever.  I hate SUV’s so that isn’t even an option.  I can’t wait to be the rockin momma in the mini-van!!!!

@superstar: My in-laws have the Lexus Hybrid SUV, and I L-O-V-E that car!  I would love for that to be my next car, but with the pricetag it’s not too likely.

The car I have now would be fine for kids because it’s a 4 door, but ideally my next car will be a roomier 4 door, or a nice SUV, but not sure what kind yet because I also run my cars into the ground.  I’d probably still have my last one if I didn’t get this one for free.

Well, not sure if it will be a mini-van, but it won’t be no 2-seater, that’s for SURE.

We have been having this conversation a lot lately.  Our next car will definitely be a larger car to transport kids.  We just got my husband a Prius (it’s very roomy!), which we love and will run into the ground…so we’ll be selling/trading-in my little 2-door Acura in the next 2-3 years…I have no idea what we’re going to get…I love Subarus like Mrs. Penguin (my first car was a Subaru), but we’ll probably get a Camry or some type of SUV.

Several months before we got married, I was car shopping with my husband and we were test driving a Mazda 3.  I asked him if he thought a stroller would fit in the cargo space and his jaw hit the pavement.  It was hilarious!  It’s a low process, but he is trying to find something automatic, with four doors, and some cargo space, all of which are not included in the Infiniti G3 Coupe he drives.  I’m glad he had the chance to drive a fancy, fast car and now seems ready for something practical!

well, I’m crazy & bought a "kid appropriate" car 4 years ago & am getting married in a month.  It is a Ford Escape Hybrid, and I love it, and I plan to have it at least another 5 years…hopefully kids in 2010!  😉

It’s not too big that I feel guilty, now, and the mileage is comparable to that of my previous sedan.
