Where do you bees go for your window treatments?
I am having a hard time finding any drapes I actually like. I’m looking for some colorful (but not too bright) drapes to brighten my small and severley-lacking-in-windows-home. I love cool yellows (adult colors, not bright kid color yellow) but can’t find anything.
I would LOVE curtains out of this which is fabric from Joanns, but it’d end up costing quite a bit to make my own.

I do know that when I was younger, my mom made all our curtains/window treaments. The fabric is expensive, but if you compare it to professional window treatments…it’s not.
JCPenny sometimes has good curtains, and in college I went to Target, lol.

Have you tried http://www.overstock.com ?
You can sort by color-
Have you thought about keeping the drapes neutral and bringing in color with pillows and other accent pieces that are easily changed?

Is there a World Market in your area? They have beautiful, eccentric patterns and colors.

@soyjoy222: well, I had never planned on buying custom window treatments. My budget is more like what target sells their drapes for.
@julies1949: In our apartment, everything is white. We really wanted some nicely colored curtains to offset all the white walls, beige carpets, beige couches etc..

Have you checked places like Fabric Land or Fabric.com. Fabric Land will make custom panels for very reasonable. However, you need to use there fabric so the hard part is finding a fabric that works with your room. Also, I’m looking at Restoration Hardware for our panels. They aren’t as funky so they might be a little boring for you! But if you want something more simple check them out online. What I like about RH is they offer lengths for 9 or 10 ft ceilings and they are nice quality. Also, have you thought of using that expensive Joanne fabric as an accent pillow so wouldn’t have to purchase so many yards. Just a thought! ; )
